Meika's Safehouse Parrot Care Course

The first days and weeks you bring a new flock member home can be wonderful, as well as full of questions and challenges. Start off on the right foot!

Welcome to Meika's Safehouse Parrot Care Course!

This is a mandatory course that is required to be completed prior to adopting a bird from Meika's Safehouse. The applicant must also be the one purchasing access to the course.

You will be provided a certificate of completion once you have successfully passed the quiz. You will provide that certificate to your adoption counselor as proof of completion.

The purpose of this course is to help prepare you for a new parrot in your home. From cages to toys and play to behaviour, your first few days, weeks and months together will be an adjustment. We are here to help!

The course does NOT guarantee you will be approved for adoption.

It is required that all members of the household aged 12 and up take this course. Your entire household can review the course as many times as needed.

This certification is valid for 18 months from completion. You will be required to re-take the course if you want to adopt a new bird from Meika's Safehouse in the future.
